When it comes to color palettes, neutrals will always have my heart. Just one look in my closet and it’ll confirm that (no for real..). Neutrals are timeless and tell a story in their own way, but sometimes aren’t as easy as it looks to pull together a cohesive palette for your brand (think choosing a white for your walls).
Picking a palette
When picking out a neutral color palette for your brand it’s important to choose a palette that doesn’t wash out your design. Meaning, you’ll still need a richer, more eye-catching color that you can use for buttons and Calls to Action on your website. This will ensure that your audience navigates your website and gets them to the content and offer you want them to!
Designing Brand Graphics
Whether you are a social seller, entrepreneur, or love making graphics for fun, Canva is a great place to start. I was an early adopter of Canva years back, and let me just say they have come a LONG way. Their original templates looked like they were designed in Word (it was baaad), which caused me to part ways with the design tool for a while. But WOW have they had a glow.upppp. Even as a professional graphic and web designer, Canva is now my go-to for templates and graphics!
Pro Tip: Set up your brand colors in Canva Pro so you can easily use them on any graphic and template! Go to your Canva home page and in the left sidebar you’ll see “Brand Kit” under tools.
Below are 3 of my favorite neutral color palettes.
You can use the HEX code (always in this format #XXXXXX and a combo of numbers and letters) when designing your website (I recommend Showit) and creating your graphics! You can even combine a few of them from different graphics below. Go crazy! …but not too crazy 😉
Now tell me in the comments below, which is your favorite?!
Mmm catch me putting these to use immediately instead of searching “neutral hex codes” on Pinterest daily 😅
